A report says which post it's about and whether you think it's AI-made. Here's everything that comes with it and where it goes.
What your app sends
The post's id (for a TikTok video, the number in its address), the creator's id when the app knows it, the platform, your vote and the link you reported. It also sends an install ID, a random number your app made when you installed it. No account, name, email or phone number is ever sent.
What the server keeps
Your vote, the post's id and your install ID, so you can change your vote or take it back. A share link is opened once to find the post it leads to. The link itself is never stored.
Your IP address is used for a moment to tell networks apart, so one household or one office can't count as dozens of people. It's turned into short codes made with a secret key, so they can't be turned back into an address. One pair changes every day. Another is made for each post, so the same network counts once on it however many times it reports. Then the address is dropped. It isn't written to the database or to the web server's logs.
A post's votes stay for 30 days after its last vote and are then deleted from the server.
What's public
The list shows a hash of each reported post's id with its counts. The report logs show each vote with the post's hash, the creator's hash, the vote, the time to the minute and the day's two codes. Your install ID is never published.
Taking a report back
Use Undo in the app, or take the vote back from the button you reported with. Your vote leaves the counts and the next list, and the public log records that a vote was withdrawn.
